An industry veteran is saying goodbye. Long time “Entertainment Tonight” anchor Mary Hart will be leaving the show after nearly 30 years. Mary joined the show in 1982 and will end her reign after the 30th season, which begins September 13.
“I’ve had the privilege of spending 29 years doing something I love — how often does that happen?” she said in a statement Thursday.”I only meant to be at ‘ET’ for three years, suddenly it’s almost 30!”
“It will certainly be with mixed sentiments that I say ‘goodbye’ at the end of the season, but it will definitely be with a sense of celebration … 30 years of Entertainment Tonight, are you kidding me?” she said. “That’s an accomplishment and something I’m very proud of!”
There has been no announcement on who will be replacing Hart.
